How may we help you?

Our job at the Department level is to assist all AMVETS members and veterans in the state.  We can also assist individuals to join the AMVETS organization.  We have programs to assist veterans, veterans spouses or Sons of AMVETS to become members.  If you are unsure where within the AMVETS organization you are eligible to join, just send us an email at members@amvetswv.org or just use the form on our contact page or the one at the bottom of this page.

Membership in AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary is open to the mothers, wives, widows, grandmothers, sisters, daughters and granddaughters of AMVETS, CLICK HERE to join.

Membership in the SONS OF AMVETS is open to the sons, brothers, step-sons, adopted sons, grand-son, husband or brother of AMVETS, CLICK HERE to join.

Veterans Services

AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans. AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard. With more than 250,000 members nationwide, we are veterans serving veterans.

AMVETS Mission Statement: To enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy and services.

 

Veteran Assistance

The Department of WV acts as a clearinghouse to provide service and assistance to AMVETS members and veterans in the state.

Work With Us

The Department of WV is a collection of Posts throughout the State who work individually and collectively to provide services and activities to support their local communities.  Some of these activities are:

  •  Fundraisers to support local charities and organizations
  • Providing grave markers to identify veterans
  • Providing transportation for medical appointments
  • Crab feeds, hog feeds and other social events
  • Americanism activities to teach school children about flags and the importance of patriotic traditions
  • Recognizing students in JROTC participation with certificates and medals
